Sam saved my life many times, regardless how stupid that sounds. I can barely live a day without a sadness in my heart, but Sam was one of the people that could brought me back up to appreciate life. Thank you, Sam. I wish I had the chance to thank you in person.

For those of you ragging on the guy, he did more in 17 years than most of you will do in your whole lifetime. He could have given up and let his disorder devastate him, but he didn’t. He had determination and was realistic. While some of you may label him a “freak” – no, no, no. He had a shitload of inner beauty whereas all of you degrading him, YOU are the freakishly ugly ones on the inside, no matter what your “pretty” and insecure packaging tries to dictate otherwise.

    Rest well, rest peacefully, Sam.

I simply loved every word he said. It was quite moving and very relatable, because I try to live my life with those same thoughts in mind. I admire his courage to go and speak and lend the key to leading a “happy life”. This by far is one of my favorite tedtalks I’ve ever had the privilege of hearing and I am wholeheartedly grateful that I took the time to watch it.

He had so many dreams 🙁 That’s what really gets to me, the fact that this smart, awesome human being was unfortunately taken away so soon from us. I’m sure he could’ve changed the world. He has definitely changed millions just by counting the views on this video. I wish I could all tell him how much he’s inspired me to become a better, happier person. Thanks Sam.

Why do you feel sorry for an alien? He was scouting out earth to get intel for his alien friends in preparation for their invasion. He didn’t die; he just teleported back to his ship!

The comments here show exactly what he meant when he said surround yourself with quality people who can raise you up instead of bringing you down. the first commentator is trying to be sympathetic and compassionate while the second commentator is hateful and hurtful for his own sick amusement. the first commentator is the kind of people whom you want to surround yourself with because he is genuinely good. people like the second commentator should be avoided because they would only bring misery to themselves and to the world. I am sure he had this cruel experience being teased and judged by other people all his life. for what? because he looked different? if we try to show compassion for one another for one moment and not be cruel to other people for whatever reason, I think people like Sam and the rest of us can find happiness in this world.

Sam died about 1 month after doing this Ted talk. Very brave even though he was given a death sentence of 1 month left. I can’t imagine talking to an entire crowd of people knowing I would die in a month without breaking down in tears. May Sam rest in peace.

No according to his logic there is a possible 140 million dislike on this video if entire human population votes on this video.

I try not to waste time feeling bad for myself, because when I do, there’s no room for happiness.
