Manly P. Hall – Psychic Self Destruction (Psychology and Self Improvement Series)

Manly P Hall is one of my favorite speakers.
This is Psychic Self Destruction (Psychology and Self Improvement Series)
He may be hard for some to listen to, but his words always resonate with me.
I have his entire set of lectures, hundreds of them….and have listened to about every one.So if anyone is interested in one they cannot find, let me know and I will see if I have them.
Peace to all-

Manly Hall is good at telling us things about ourselves we don’t want to admit…
Often, this is why some people don’t like him. He seems to be almost fatherly, and points the finger at our own misgivings.
      I like that….

+Neo Dio Echad You have to listen to specific lectures. He has hundreds. He also only speaks on what he knows. Remember much of this is 50 years old or more, and we knew less than we do in today’s world about culture and history

+Enchanted Starz Chris White and William Bill Cooper. one may not find their research interesting but 1 thing for sure is that they tell the truth. I personally have the same respect for them both as i do for Manly P Hall.

Before I really knew anything about Freemasonry, my impression of the occult order was of selfish, satanic, egotistical corruption. And while those people exist, I have a newfound respect and appreciation for Manly P Hall. I learn from him often, and I am never disappointed in hearing him speak. He is a compassionate, generous man who I would whole heartedly recommend to anybody in a time of struggle.

+H2Raby There are both light masons and dark masons. There are those who are building up the pyramid of control and fear, and those who are dismantling it brick by brick… I like to think MPH is of the latter group!

Tom Lovette – i should not have been so harsh with you. i apologize for my rash reaction. i could and should have been gentler toward you. It is just that i would go in person to Manly’s lectures and he did not look at all like those dramatic black and white photographs. i believe those dramatic photos were of his youth, Manly, when i went to hear him lecture was much older, He was beautifully turned out in fine tailored wool suits. A picture of elegance and warm reserve. i had the supreme privlege, pleasure, and honor of sitting in his small audience and listening to him lecture. What he said stays with me even to this day. For instance: “Peace of mind is intimately associated with character.”
      Blessings to you, Tom-Tom!

Really you don’t know me…….so it’s all good if you would like to be harsh that is fine and your choice…..the world being the weather and all its occupants prolly worked just fine before someone decided it’s needs to be controlled……of course no one really knows anything

I don’t think I have every heard a lecture or talk, that comes close to having he personal effect listening to Manly P Hall’s talks do… and he does so many, they are a gift. It is funny to see what leads us to this place, how we end up in places we likely would not have predicted.. a “chance” conversation, looking at another area for reasons that are not really related to what you find or why you love it so much… you could look up alchemy, because you like the symbols or think it may reflect an image f yourself you wish to express… then end up rejecting this egoism completely, through studying the philosophy, life really is an amazing school if you make the effort to learn, and once you start… in this talk, there is a message that all destruction is ultimately self destruction, don;t you think?

Becoming aware, like you say, is enlightenment.. even with work to do, it is enlightenment.

There is so much compassion in Manly P Halls analysis of our conundrum.
I find this level of thinking comforting…and would love any other links to similar speakers/thinkers.

“Manly” Pee Hall couldn’t face up to his own homosexuality yet he lectured others how to live as though he was “in the know.” Reminds me of the condescending adult one has to endure as a child knowing full well they’re listening to a pompous, hypocritical, blowhard. Here’s someone married twice (with at least one marriage described as “stormy”) who kept tight reins on his personal life so his image/ego wouldn’t be tarnished (what’s to hide oh great one?). He travelled the world off other people’s money and was bequeathed a house and monthly income for decades to live and continue researching his fairy tales. If he had any skill it was as a charismatic snake oil salesman, and gullible/sad/lost people still buy into his esoteric/nonsensical bullshit, so desperate are they to make sense of the emptiness/meaninglessness/incomprehensibleness of life. In the end, the old con was himself conned, murdered and found with black ants streaming out of his mouth, ears and nostrils (symbolic, eh?). The old coot’s voice even conjures in the mind images of spider webs and crypt dust.

Wow, you sure are a bundle of positivity! 🙂 If being homosexual in his day and age and hiding it makes him a fool, or ignorant, I don’t see it or care. Seems trivial when discussing such subjects.
I never heard him once lecture anyone on homosexuality, but if you feel that negates his wisdom, that is your own reality. I’ve learned to read between the lines, and any man who spends his life speaking as a philosopher is sure to disagree on some points- but does not negate his life or his work.

Perhaps some are just too biased about trivial matters to listen to the messages. You seem as if you fit into that category. Obviously, he strikes a nerve or you would not have come to visit a video about him. I do not feel he deserves such disrespect…. and have no idea what your issue with him is. That is your own choice- but you fall into a minority who cannot find value in a great man’s work. Nothing is lost by listening to his efforts in my opinion

I agree he has a pious demeanor, but I would expect that from someone who spoke as long as he did. 🙂 I saw how his attitude changed over the decades from his earlier work. He encountered a lot of resistance, and it shows in later years.
I just found many gems of wisdom, if one can look past the condescending attitude he sometimes displays. All great speakers have that problem, I learned to expect it, and look past it.
As for being gay, that is a complicated issue I will not pretend to know about. If he had come out as such, he would have been barred from speaking many places most likely, and was smart. Why come out? What would be the point? People come out because they want others to know, but not everyone does. I just think that makes him more human, I would not expect him to reveal everything about his personal life, it is irrelevant really.
