I probably have to put my name.  I came here to learn about empathy because I believe I am trying to over narcisstic tendencies….there, I said it.  I do believe that it was brought on by an unhealthy relationship with a parent which just continued into other relationships and I am working on that, knowing it is not their fault, but the thing is to be different.  One of the concerns with this is that it does not talk about selfishness and that a huge problem for people with this condition…so…..one of the approaches I take is to the spiritual path which is overcoming the self…we are not “special” we are one part of a greater whole…have a great day.

Thank you Peter Gerlach for this new information!  I recently completed an intensive 6 day abandonment workshop and just when I thought I have a pretty good understanding of the ” King Kong of them all”  issues – Abandonment, I see there are a few more demons hiding out inside of me waiting to be revealed. I’ve been looking for hands on tools to DO the work and make the changes that must be made and up until now I have not found a methodology that addresses how to change what’s going on inside of me.  I often have wondered about my diagnosis of ADD and my lifetime of health challenges that could not be named. This all could very well be my inner family that needs attending to.  Lesson 1 here we come.

Thank you so much for your kind and generous offer and teachings of this material, humanity is in dire need for these teachings.  Most people are unaware of the gifts and baggage that is inherently handed down from ancestral lineage and suffer the pain and guilt for feeling like they are misfits or dis-functional.
